Lumenis Ltd, a developer, manufacturer, and seller of global laser equipment has just launched Active FX, billed as an effective, single treatment for skin rejuvenation. This procedure can be used to treat wrinkles, fine lines, loose skin and discoloration (e.g., freckles, "age spots," etc.), as well as other effects of aging and sun damage.

The makers noticed that younger and more active patients are seeking skin rejuvenation procedures sooner and more often; when their skin is aging, but the problem is not yet severe. It was for these patients that Active FX was created. The Active FX procedure allows an efficient and convenient way to undergo skin rejuvenation without a lot of downtime after treatment.

Like other laser skin treatments, the ActiveFX procedure works by applying laser energy in very narrow, scanned beams.

This creates tiny columns of thermal energy which penetrate down to the skin's second layer and stimulate the growth of new collagen. The "spacing" of this thermal energy means that the skin in between is spared; resulting in faster healing process.

Active FX is different than other laser treatments because it uses the CO2 laser, which tends to treat areas of discoloration both on the surface of the skin and also deeper down into the dermis.
